The NAD C 658 combines a network streamer, advanced DAC and traditional preamplifier in one cost-effective package. With the shift from physical media to streaming and from analog to digital, the C 658 offers a future-proof solution for music playback. Thanks to NAD's exclusive Modular Design Construction, the C 658 stays up-to-date with the latest technologies. An optional HDMI 4k switcher module is even available for optimal sound from HDMI sources such as game consoles and video STBs.

Various Outputs

The C 658 offers a wide range of outputs, including balanced connections for active speakers or amplifiers and single-ended connections for amplifiers and subwoofers. The subwoofer crossover is perfectly executed in the digital domain. In addition, the C 658 features a highly advanced MM Phono input and line inputs for legacy analog components.

BluOS™ Enabled

The C 658 is equipped with BluOS, the most advanced high-res streaming system available. BluOS supports more than 15 streaming music services and indexes more than 250,000 tracks from local network sources. The C 658 becomes a node in the BluOS ecosystem, enabling high-res network streaming to 64 zones and control options for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac OS. BluOS also supports all major smart home controllers, making it easy to create a whole-home audio system.

High Resolution in Every Detail

NAD components have been known for high resolution, low distortion and ultra-low noise for 45 years. With the rise of high-res digital recording and streaming, combined with technologies such as MQA, the C 658 brings studio master quality recordings to your listening room. The C 658 is equipped with the ESS Sabre 32bit DAC, one of the best-performing DACs on the market with a dynamic range of 118 dB and incredibly low jitter. All preamp functions are performed in the digital domain, including a wide non-truncating digital volume control used in Masters Series components. This provides an incredibly short analog signal path that is identical for all volume settings.

Dirac Live Room Correction

The C 658 is the first NAD stereo component to feature Dirac Live room correction, the most advanced and effective room correction available. Dirac corrects both the impulse response of your speakers and the frequency response of your room, resulting in a transparent window into the musical performance. When the room resonances are tamed and the transient response is corrected, your speakers disappear, so to speak, and the music sounds magical. The C 658 includes a license for Dirac Live with the option for advanced users to upgrade to a Dirac Live Full Frequency version.

Master Quality Authenticated (MQA)

The C 658 supports MQA, a revolutionary end-to-end technology built into any BluOS Enabled amplifier to capture MQA music and deliver it to your speakers in the purest quality. BluOS Enabled players and systems include a powerful decoder and audio display for MQA-encoded tracks. The MQA logo displayed in the BluOS app indicates that the device is in the process of decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, so you hear exactly what the artist recorded and approved in the studio.
