The 4th-generation Grado driver is tailored specifically for the SR225x and features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with reduced effective mass and a reconfigured diaphragm. This component redesign for the 44 mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music.

Together with the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the SR225x. Now housed in a more durable exterior, the 8-core cable carries more information and features a super annealed copper wire for better audio signal purity. The new headband has more cushion, providing a more comfortable listening experience, even during prolonged listening sessions.

Each SR225x is hand-built by Grado's team in Brooklyn. These headphones go from workbench to workbench until they are ready for the user's ears. Grado began building a kitchen table in 1953, and every experience since has led to the creation of the SR225x.
